Worship Service Ministries

We all have God-given talents (some we may not know about yet).  Supporting congregation activities is a great way to get involved, meet people, and feel more in-touch with the abilities God has given you. Please consider congregation support as part of your personal ministry!

Music Ministries

bell_choirMusic is an important part of SUMC worship experiences!  If you have musical talent (enthusiasm counts!), we’d like to find you a way to express that for the Lord!  Contact the office for more info!

Chancel Choir: Led by Music Director Ed Morris. The Choir sings on Sunday for the Traditional Service at 9:30 am and practices Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm.

Bell Choir: The Bell Choir plays at our Traditional Worship Service, Sunday at 9:30 am and practice Wednesday evenings at 7:30 pm.

Praise Team: The heart of the Praise & Worship Service, your singing can help the emotional impact or this exciting time

Instrumental and special music:  Do you play an instrument or would like to sing?  Let us know how we can help you give a performance as a musical offering

Lay Speaking & Liturgical Ministry

United Methodists have a long tradition of training lay people to assist the ordained clergy in the services. Sometimes, our lay speakers even delivery the Sunday message!  If you’d like to deepen your understanding of the message development process, the liturgy, and speaking, please contact us.

Worship Helpers

Our congregation makes our church function. Positions include:

  • Service set-up
  • Entryway hosts
  • Attendance & Offerings

Being a part of the service can be a great way to really feel involved!

Media & Technical Support

It doesn’t just happen, folks! Media and technical help is as big a part of ministry.

  • Sound board & audio-visual
  • In-service media development (slides, video)
  • Printed material layout and production
  • Website support & maintenance

If you have (or would like to learn) the skills to help out in these areas, we’d love to have you!

Campus Shepherds

We are very proud of our facilities and feel they provide a great environment for worship and fellowship. Please consider these:

  • Grounds (mowing & trimming)
  • Building maintenance
  • Cleaning & Inside stuff

Transportation

transportationProvided by the Alice Lou Craig Fund, SUMC has a new bus and transportation volunteers, helping members of our congregation join us for worship and travel for our community events.
